New England Disabled Sports (NEDS) is a 501(c)(3) non- profit organization that is nationally recognized for providing year-round adaptive sports instruction to over 700 children, adolescents and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities was awarded a grant to fund a second visit for athletes.
New York Ski Education Foundation
The New York Ski Educational Foundation (NYSEF) mission is to provide opportunities for athletes of all ages to reach their potential in snow sports -alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, snowboarding, ski jumping, cross country skiing, Nordic combined, and biathlon-through professional guidance and financial support was awarded a grant to fund the upgrade of the timing tower.
Middlebury Ski Club
The Middlebury Ski club, a non-profit organization of families and friends with the common goal of promoting healthy activity through alpine skiing and of supporting and developing skiers and ski racers was awarded a grant to support the reestablishment of the Middlebury Union High School (MUHS) Alpine Ski Racing Team.
Winter Kids Education Foundation
WinterKids who has been connecting Maine children and families to the outdoors in the winter, and year-round with innovative education programs for families, schools, and communities statewide was awarded a grant to expand the Portland Nordic program, and launch additional Nordic programs in other Maine communities. WinterKids will target communities with existing high school teams, local Nordic opportunities and community resources, with the goal of nurturing Nordic skiers across the spectrum, starting in elementary school.
Cochran's Ski Area
Cochran’s Ski Area, the nations first 501(c)(3) non-profit ski area where no child will be denied the opportunity to ski or ride was awarded a grant for more efficient snowmaking and installation of lights on the Race Trail.
Catamount Alpine Race Team
The Catamount Alpine Race Team, which provides additional training resources, a strong social environment, and ensures the coaching environment supports youth ski racing development was awarded a grant to fund one-half of the terrain improvement and lighting on Alley Cat.
Pico Ski Education Foundation
Pico Ski Education Foundation (PSEF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization helping to provide funding for young athletes to pursue their dreams of ski racing while encouraging them to learn sound technical skills, good sportsmanship, healthy competitiveness and an appreciation for the spirit of skiing and for the mountains themselves was awarded a grant to complete slope work on the Little Pico Training venue.
Appalachian Ski Education Foundation
Appalachian Ski Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization working for the support and development of the ski team and skiing was awarded a grant to expand the App Development Program by addressing some of the factors that may inhibit youth’s participation in snow sports. Working in collaboration with Mountain Alliance they will engage youth in skiing and snowboarding who would not readily have the opportunity.
Dublin School
Dublin School, a 9-12 college preparatory school has combined rigorous academics with competitive sports and spending time outdoors. Skiing has been a defining activity throughout the School’s history and today. Nordic skiing is at the heart of their successful endurance sports program. The Dublin School was awarded a grant to fund adding lights to the Nordic facility.
Kelly Brush Foundation
The Kelly Brush Foundation whose mission is to prevent ski racing injuries through a shared commitment to best safety practices and to inspire and empower people with spinal cord injuries to live active and engaged lives was awarded a grant for funding an Alpine Competition & Safety Consultant position. The Alpine Competition & Safety Consultant will provide a reliable national resource for venue excellence, on-hill safety, and training to further our commitment to alpine safety education.
West Mountain School
West Mountain School whose mission is to help provide many of the supporting elements such as safety and technical equipment, financial scholarships, and fostering a sense of community and volunteer service was awarded a grant for additional safety equipment and supplies to help support West Mountain further its commitment to alpine ski racing.
Upper Valley Snow Sports Foundation
The Upper Valley Snow Sports Foundation whose goal is to build community by providing an affordable home for the lifelong enjoyment of all snow sports was awarded a grant to increase snowmaking output to provide a more consistent snow product, so the programs and revenue will continue to grow and allow the move towards a true path to sustainability. This will help to support both alpine development and after-school programs.
New York Ski Education Foundation
The New York Ski Educational Foundation (NYSEF) mission is to provide opportunities for athletes of all ages to reach their potential in snowsports -alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, snowboarding, ski jumping, cross country skiing, Nordic combined, and biathlon-through professional guidance and financial support was awarded a grant to purchase and build out of a waxing and warming trailer for the nordic programs. The trailer will be used primarily for our nordic disciplines to do the following (but not limited to): bring to race venues for waxing and testing skis quickly and efficiently, used at our ‘home’ training facilities for waxing and testing and be a prime meeting space for athletes and families.
Elk Mountain Ski Club
Elk Mountain Ski Club, whose purpose is to promote alpine ski racing, snow skiing, social and outdoor activities conducive to the health and welfare of its members was awarded a grant to provide additional space for timing and scoring as well as adding a second story to the timing shack for observation, coaches review, filming and recording.
Bromley Outing Club
The Bromley Outing Club, a 501(c)(3) serving as a gateway for life-long participation in Alpine Racing and Freeski on both a competitive and recreational level was awarded a grant for their Junior Instructional Ski Program for scholarships and to keep the cost low.
Proctor Academy
Proctor Academy is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school. Proctor Ski Area is the world’s finest high school-owned, private FIS homologated ski training facility. Featuring alpine and Nordic facilities capable of hosting internationally scored races, as well as one of the only remaining high school ski jumping facilities in New Hampshire and a five element terrain park, the Proctor Ski Area provides unparalleled racing and training facilities for Proctor’s snow sport athletes, as well as many regional snow sport programs and clubs. Proctor Academy was awarded a grant to install lights along the FIS homologated sprint loop at the Bill Paine ‘51 Nordic Center to extend training hours and further expand the impact of this facility on the greater Nordic ski community in central New Hampshire.
Green Mountain Valley School
Green Mountain Valley School, an independent college preparatory school for competitive Alpine and Nordic ski racers in grades 8-12 and postgraduates was awarded a grant to fund terrain expansion with a “cut through” between Inverness and Brambles allowing a multitude of athletes to train and race on a more challenging and interesting venue on a regular basis.
Magic Mountain Alpine Club
Magic Mountain who is producing elite ski racers while also providing the opportunity for any young person to “learn the values of sportsmanship, competition and physical development both on and off the ski slopes," was awarded a grant to purchase race bibs to enable the growing VARA programming that Magic sponsors.
Killington Ski Club
The Killington Ski Club, a 501(c)(3) was awarded a grant to fund the purchase and installation of a Yurt at their new training and racing venue on the Swirl trail at Killington and the necessary wiring infrastructure to support the timing and communications for this venue.
Woodstock Ski Runners
Woodstock Ski Runners who believe that it is important for the children of our communities to grow up with skiing and snowboarding as part of their lives was awarded a grant to to keep the cost of our Fridays Program at $85 for the next five years as well as providing a new scholarship program where one participant from our Fridays Program will be selected each year for the next five seasons and provided with a full scholarship to enter one of our racing programs. The Friday program is part of a system to teach children how to ski and to progress those children who showed talent to the world of competitive skiing.
Burke Mountain Academy
Burke Mountain Academy, which provides passionate ski racers the opportunity to pursue their limitless academic and athletic potential in a community based on trust was awarded a grant for terrain improvement on Upper Warren's Way.
Stride: The Wright Foundation for Female Athletes
Stride’s whose mission is to create opportunities for girls and women through sports and mentoring was awarded a grant to help with the costs of Ski Club participation for four girls, including gear and fees.
Youth Enrichment Services (YES)
YES was awarded a grant for The Adaptive YETTI (Youth Excel Through Tailored Instruction) program to provide 35 youth with physical, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities with three sessions of downhill skiing and snowboarding through a proven repeat engagement mode. The Adaptive YETTI program will build upon YES's one-time programming for youth with disabilities and provide them with multiple days on the slopes designed to deepen skills, build confidence, and connect with positive role models.
Pico Ski Education Foundation
Pico Ski Education Foundation (PSEF), a non-profit organization helping to provide funding for young athletes to pursue their dreams of ski racing while encouraging them to learn sound technical skills, good sportsmanship, healthy competitiveness and an appreciation for the spirit of skiing and for the mountains themselves was awarded a grant for the trail widening and recontouring of the upper one third section of B slope to expand and improve the training venue.
Mount Peter Ski Club, Inc
Mount Peter Ski Club, which provides strong leadership that establishes and supports athletic excellence by cultivating and developing integrity, discipline, competence and a sense of achievement in young people involved in the sport of ski racing was awarded a grant to their update timing equipment.
National Winter Activity Center
Winter4Kids is a youth-focused nonprofit organization that changes lives through winter activities. NWAC which provides mentor-based, experiential learning and encourages kids to have FUN while mastering Nordic skiing, alpine skiing and snowboarding was awarded a grant to provide equipment, training and fees for participants, who will pursue US Ski And Snowboard (Alpine & Nordic) competitive programs.
Killington Ski Club
The Killington Ski Club, a 5013c was awarded a grant to fund the safety improvements, and terrain improvements of the Highline trail.
US Ski & Snowboard Eastern Region
The Eastern Region of US Ski & Snowboard will invest the grant monies within their community to build an identity as “Eastern ski racers.” They want to reinvigorate the image of Eastern alpine ski racing by providing Eastern athletes with more opportunities to identify as ski racers, specifically as Eastern region ski racers.
Sugarloaf Ski Club
The Sugarloaf Ski Club, a 501(c)(3), whose mission is to provide the opportunity for all youth to participate and excel in skiing and snowboarding, promote community-building events, support competition, and preserve the history and heritage of the mountain was awarded a grant to support SSC's program to get more kids out on snow. The Sugarloaf Ski Club believes that participation in on-snow programs can positively impact the lives of young residents in local communities.
